and welcome to my homepage.

I'm a mechanical engineer and mountainbiker from the south island of New Zealand.

The south island is the more sparsely populated and wild of New Zealands two main islands. It has the mountains which can be covered in snow any time of the year. It also holds the hottest, driest, wettest and coldest locations to be found in NZ. Thanks to Peter Jackson the scenery has become world famous.

Several "Lord of the Rings" scenes were shot just to the right of this valley.

This map isn't entirely accurate but it gives a good idea of the land which I call home.
